Percentage Change Calculator

Determine the percentage increase or decrease between two numbers. Useful for financial analysis and performance tracking.

How to Use

Enter the old value and new value, then choose % Change. The old value must be non-zero.

Formula and interpretation

Percentage change = (new − old) / old × 100. A zero baseline has no defined percentage change. Negative baselines retain the sign of the denominator, so interpret those results carefully.

Example

An increase from 100 to 120 is +20%; a decrease from 100 to 80 is −20%. These are relative changes, not percentage-point differences.
