Calorie Calculator

Estimate daily calorie needs from BMR and activity level.

Enter values and calculate the result.

About the Calorie Calculator

Estimate maintenance calories by multiplying resting energy by a rough activity factor. Supported ages are 19–78, as in the original study. Weight 20–300 kg, height 100–250 cm and calculated BMI 10–70 are broad software limits, not healthy ranges or proof of suitability. Not intended for children, pregnancy, breastfeeding or clinical nutrition decisions. Individual needs differ.

How to use it

Enter body details and select the activity level that best matches your routine.

Formula / Explanation

Daily calories = BMR × activity factor: sedentary 1.2, light 1.375, moderate 1.55, active 1.725, very active 1.9. These are rough assumptions, not individually measured energy use.

Example

If BMR is 1,650 and activity factor is 1.55, maintenance calories are about 2,558/day.

Can this help with weight loss?

It gives a maintenance estimate; weight loss usually requires a calorie deficit.

Which BMR formula is used?

Simplified Mifflin–St Jeor: 10 × kg + 6.25 × cm − 5 × age, then +5 for male or −161 for female. Original study.

Is it exact?

No. It is a planning estimate.
