About the BMR Calculator

Estimate resting energy expenditure with the simplified Mifflin–St Jeor equation. Supported ages are 19–78, as in the original study. Weight 20–300 kg, height 100–250 cm and calculated BMI 10–70 are broad software limits, not healthy ranges or proof of suitability. Not intended for children, pregnancy, breastfeeding or clinical nutrition decisions. Individual needs differ.

How to use it

Enter gender, weight, height, and age.

Formula / Explanation

Mifflin-St Jeor: Men = 10W + 6.25H - 5A + 5. Women = 10W + 6.25H - 5A - 161.

Example

A 30-year-old male, 70 kg and 175 cm, has an estimated BMR near 1,649 calories/day.

Is BMR the same as daily calories?

No. BMR is resting energy only. Activity increases daily needs.
